Set in the historic 1920’s A Shed building in Fremantle harbour, and in keeping with their relaxed outdoor ethos, Gage Roads set out to create an open, inviting, family friendly venue. Maximising the large sunlit space and with a focus on using WA suppliers and local materials Including mural, stone and wall finishing artisans, Made were able to provide a range of table & seating options using local timbers, namely Spotted Gum and Victorian Ash, to seat the hundreds of patrons they can accommodate at any one time. Showcasing their range of brews and fantastic food, patrons can enjoy a drink and meal with friends and family all while watching the ships go by in the harbour. The interiors team, Mata Design Studio, have since received an Award of Merit in the 2022 Design Institute of Australia awards for “Place” What stands is a future icon where all are welcome.
